Arriving at Ellis Island
After moving from Italy because of the land I lost, I finally arrived at the United States of America, and the folks at Ellis island forced me to change my name from Ralphanzo Pastalini to Ralph Patini. I didn't really mind because I was there after two months of traveling from Italy on a canoe. A few of my friends from Italy came with me but they were held at Ellis Island for some reason. I hope they're okay. -

A Job
When I made it to Boston, I coulnd't find any work so i lived on dumpster food and trash cans in restraunts and diners. It took nine months for me to find work at a pasta shop, but many of the Italians were beat up and killed because none of us knew that we took the Irish's jobs. Lots of Irish were arrested that day. -
Hitchhike the train
Working at the pasta shop was hard work, especially during supper time, because everybody in the neighborhood came over to the shop. It took seven months for me to get enough money to move to the west and buy a house. I left late at night and stole some pasta from the shop. I was almost taken to jail for theft, but i barely escaped and I plan to never return to Boston, because jail will be waiting for me. -
Finally There
hitchhiked on a train supposedly heading for the west but one of the guards found me and chucked me off the train. It was pure luck that on my grab i pulled off a compass and started to walk. I encountered snakes, buffalo, Indians, and other animals. I visitied this After walking for 15 months, I finally made it to the west and went to the nearest tavern to get a drink. -
Land in the West
When I arrived in the west, I heard rumors of this "Homestead Act", and realized that you could get free land if you could improve the land for five years. I rushed outside to a worker and asked him about the act. He said if you could get to the land first, then it would be your's for free. I quickly bought a horse and grabbed a stake tp mark my land and raced out to the open grass. Another citizen was racing and I had to beat him. I rode the horse as fast as I could, and i claimed the land! -
Land Trashed
After coming home from a long day of work, Iwanted nothing more than to lay in my bed and sleep, but when I arrived, I found that my house and the land was trashed! As I was looking through I found a note saying "Revenge". I went into my house and found it was also trashed and things were stolen from my house like my money and some of my clothes. I went straght to the sheriff and told him about it and the note. After that I had one thought, that it was the Irish
