I was born!
I was born on July 3rd, 1828. I was born in china and raised in china. So, I was considered to be fully Chinese. Although, I didn’t look Chinese, I was still treated like one from my family. I was born in a little Chinese house made of bricks. I was known to be in the middle of the family. My brother was born after me and I had to make myself look responsible so he can become responsible too. I can't wait until I get my first job in America and I wonder what it's going to be like. -
I get my job
I get my job 8 years later waiting to go over to America. I am 8 years old and my family are kind of poor so we can't get expensive stuff and a lot of food. We shop at stores that sell for a little price for each item. I am getting a job so we can afford our taxes and buy more food. My job was either going to be working on railroads or mining. I chose railroads because I think it's easier and less dangerous. As, I leave China I wave goodbye to my family hoping I will be able to come back a -
My friend dies
Today i found out my friend that was chinese had died. I was so sad that I wanted to just run away from America,but I was working there too. So, I had to be strong that my friend died. He died from the Americans beating him so badly. One of my American friends said that his men had to do what they had to do. I asked why they would do such a thing. He said there was a law stating they could do whatever to te workers if they werent working hard enough. -
More and More Chinese Come to America!
More and More Chinese come to America to look for jobs. My American friend said to me that I dont work hard enough someone is going take my place. I definelty listened to him so I worked harder. I saw that some of my friends were lucky enough to stay and work for the Americans. I thought that my family would be ashamed that I get kicked off of the job. So, when i saw my boss I told him I was going to work harder then ever, So he told me Im never going to be a replacement. I got so exited. -
California Gold Rush
I was so exicted, I heard there was treasure found nearby. I was so excited, i told my boss I am goin over there to collect some gold. He allowed it but he told me 25% of the money go's to him and I sayed I was glad to. So, I had packed my stuff and I went over to the gold. I wasnt the only one there. I saw italians and chinese and Americans too!. I was worried that the Italians and Americans were going to fight, then pull us in the fight too. I didnt want to get killed so I move away. -
I am Leaving
Today I had colled my money and now I am leaving the Americans. I had found out there was a law anyways that kicked us Chinese out of America. I was mad but also glad becuase I had enough money for the whole family for the rest of the years. I had told my family everything that happened throughout the months. I was exicted to see them again becuase I havent gotten so see them in a while. I knew that If I told them we were all going to have a great time when I come back.
