My name is Mia Ala i am from Ireland I am traveling to have a new start because Family had died in a house fire, about one week ago. I had no money, home, or family. I was going to america also beause of the womens rights. I wasnt getting my rights back home so i decided to go to America. I am going to miss home thought, beacuse its where i grew up and i have very many memries im going to miss so much. One act that has affected me is the homestead act.

On Ellis Island

I was going through the metical examin when I had a light cough. They took me in for freather examination. I could not understand there speacking. They put me into a room there I would live in. I was not sure how long though.

Streets of Boston

I just got out of Ellis Island. I had spent 4 years there. I had made many freinds but none had servived, I am going to find a jobs , I need to start as soon as posible.

Found Work

I had found work. I am working at a coffee shop down in boston. I have a good pay and now a place of my own. before the job I had been sleeping in empty apartment bulidings... until someone found me. luckly it was a couple of days before I haf gotten my job.

I rode in the homestead act to find land. That was one of the reasons I decided to leave my home town. Sadly during the Home Stead Act I had broken my ribs and legs, to I had no land and nothing!

I lost my job at the coffee shop today. I had been working at the coffee shop for over 4 years. I have spent all my money on clothing. I have nothing now no family, freinds, or money.
