The American Revolution Fails
The American Revolution is in full swing. But, as Washington was crossing the Delaware River, a lone Hessian spotted him and shot Washington. Washington died the next day, and without his leadership, the Revolution starts to collapse. -
The French Intervene
France quickly sends troops to the colonies in order to aid them, but this is not enough; the British succeed because the colonists soon lose hope without the leadership of George Washington. The British officially succeed on January 15th, 1777. -
Spain's Economic Problems
Spain, who had helped fund the Revolution greatly, falls into an economic downfall due to the defeat of the colonists. -
The Irish
Ireland had been bloodlessly protesting British policies during the American Revolution, via not purchasing British goods, but as the colonists failed, the people of Ireland slowly lost hope. The protests soon quit, and Ireland remained under tight British control. -
France's Economic Downfall
Due to how much France had loaned to the colonies, this causes them to spiral into an economic crisis, because the colonial revolution failed. The French Revolution breaks out early because of this crisis, and is even more violent and tumultuous. Political and economic stability in France will not return for a good few more years. -

The British have now bought Spanish and French land in the New World from the economically-desperate countries and the colonists are starting to spread across North America. England has become one of the most powerful nations in the world, controlling both sea and trade. They have become an economic and military powerhouse.
