    Parents Divorce
I was around 3 when my parents split, I didn't understand what was going on at the time as I started remembering most of my childhood at around 5 years of age. Living with my single mother taught me how to be resilient and independent as I needed to look after myself.
  • Went Bald as a Kid

This was around when I was 5 years old and I cut my hair with scissors. This is when I developed an awareness of my actions and how they affect my future. I got no presents for Christmas because of this. This is when I learned to become reflective on my actions and the consequences they can have.

    Moving to Suburbs

Moving to the suburbs as a Hispanic kid was a life-changing experience. I felt as If I didn't belong at such a young age; the city was so much different than there. Although there was a struggle at first, I persevered and was able to learn key socialization skills as I built key friendships that affected my personality effectively making me the person I am today.
  • Moving Back to the City

    Moving Back to the City
This was the same feeling I felt when I moved to the suburbs. Moving is never easy but this time it was harder as I had to give up friendships that I had for the duration of my time. This taught me resilience as I had to persevere through new living habits, a new school, a new daycare, a new city, new life. Everything for me changed which made me very anxious and built onto my internal fear of being left out and introverted.

    Covid-19 Pandemic
This was the era where everything went downhill in every aspect of life. I ghosted all my friends from school, I didn't attend my online classes. This was the era I am most embarrassed of and its also the starting point for most of my growth and academic goals. This era taught me how to be resilient as I was home all day and had no motivation but had to keep moving on.
  • Sophomore year locked in.

Sophomore year was the year I made a comeback academically and socially. During Freshman Year I had Ds and Cs but by the end of sophomore, I had all As. I also met so many people sophomore year and by the end I expanded my knowledge if my peers and my friends almost x2. Now I have a steady mindset and have all my academic goals and social goals set and by senior year I plan to make big baller moves.
  • Start of Junior year

I plan to do better in the future and I have so many goals I want to achieve and I will use my IB classes to achieve those goals. I understand this year will be much harder than any other year but knowing myself, I will get through it. I want to do better than I did sophomore year and I've already learned so many skills this year such as
    - Time management (with school work)
    - Resilience (keep going even if there is a rough day)
