A major weapon that helped the English succeed was the longbow, a weapon that can be loaded quickly and shot with accuracy. Some believe that some English defeats were done using primitive cannons.

Effect of the Hundred Year War

-More nationalism leads to less feudalism
-Uniting the armies under the King made the king more powerful and lords less powerful
-The need for bigger armies that have been trained to use the crossbows essencial leads to the end of feudalism.
-The war was a huge transitional event that led in a shift of power from feudal lords to kings and the common people.
-The British loss made them search for land outside of Europe, in the Western Hemisphere, where they would find the New World.
