Dedicated centers of humanities computing
Wisby founded the centre for literary and liguistics computing in Cambridge. This was support for his work with early middle high German text. Wilhelm Ott est. a group that developed programs for text analysis. He called it TuStep. These software modules are used today. It set high standards. -
Federalist Papers
Mosteller and Wallas made an atempt to identify authorship of the federalist papers. This was the most influentional computer based authorship investigation in the early 60's -
Yorktown Heights conference
IBM organized a conference that got people together to discuss and share ideas in Humanities computing. -

A journal called computer and humanities began it's publication. It became the main source of humanities computing. -
COCOA
COCOA defines a specification for the document structure which matches the particular set of documents.COCOA, particularly, was very influential and other schemes were derived from it. -
