The government made laws to' respect the people of any race' but, sadly this did not apply to the tribes of Aboriginal people across the states which, the government believed needed 'special laws' where the native Aboriginals were not counted in the census. -
Aboriginals denied right to vote
The commonwealth denied all Aboriginal people the right to vote. This act states 'that all people in whom the aboriginal blood preponderates are disqualified’.
