    Roman Empire's Natural Law

    Noticed people followed certain laws, even if they weren't told too. They called this concept Natural law. But it kept getting trampled at by those in power.

    England's Magna Carta

    King agreed that no one can over rule the rights of the people. Not even a king.
  • British Petition of Rights

    Human rights were finally recognized.
  • British Bill of Rights

    The human rights were now kind of safe from those in power.
  • America Declares Independence

    British rebels declare America's independence before the king got the point that all men are created equal. He didn't like the idea, but couldn't stop it.
  • French Revolution

    French followed for their own revolution for their own rights. There list was way longer. The roman concept had become natural rights.
  • Napoleon Invades Europe

    Wanted to crown himself emperor of the world. Almost succeeded. Countries joined forces to take him down in 1815.
  • WWI

    All human rights were broken and disrespected world wide. World War I starts at 1914-1918.
  • Mahatma Gandhi Leads Protests in India

    Decided that everyone everywhere had human rights. Made a pact in 1931 to defend these rights called Ghandi-Irwin pact.
  • WWII

    World War II 1939-1945, all rights were violated.
  • Nazi Germany or World War II

    Hitler exterminated half of the worldwide jewish population in concentration camps. 90 million people died, never had human rights been more broken
  • Established the United Nations

    Countries of earth banded together and formed the United Nations. Purpose was to decide one concept of human rights worldwide.
  • Chairs Commission of Eleanor Roosvelt

    Under Eleanor Roosevelt's supervision they finally agreed on 1 set of rights that applied to absolutely everyone.
  • Universal Declaration of Human Rights

    French concept of Natural rights have finally become Human Rights and they were accepted worldwide.
