In 1942 many minor league teams disbanded due to the war Young men, were being drafted into the armed services. The fear that this pattern would continue and that Major League Baseball Parks across the country were in danger of collapse. A girls' softball league was established to save the parks. -

The first female group gave a major uprise in 1943 - 1954 because of everything that was going on with ww2 this was a mix of softball and baseball. The league ended in 1954 because the owners did not want to take away the attention to regular baseball. -
