It was invented by Joseph Lister due to infections after a surgey that were killing up to almost half of his patients after surgery. Firstly he invented a spray, but it was short lived due to the fact that it was toxic when breathed in. the first band aid was made by Thomas Anderson and Earle DIckson for his wife that cuts herself a lot.
