Globalization

How globalization has changed the world and has allowed major change that may lead to peace or war.

  • Shipping

    Shipping
Globalization has improved our buying of goods. It has made our life easier to go click something and buy. How did it all start? "Boxes similar to modern containers had been used for combined rail- and horse-drawn transport in England as early as 1792" (WorldShipping). The United States is the one invented the container for trucks to make easier load and unload for faster and safer shipping., "one container that could be lifted from a vehicle directly on to a ship..." (WorldShipping).
  • Child Labor

    Child Labor
The United States had banned all Child Labor in 1938 for any child under the age of 16-18 to not to work but be educated. Now, in modern times we have over looked Child Labor now from other countries. We are buying goods from countries enforce Child Labor while we say we are against it. "President Obama signed the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act, which eliminated the consumptive demand exception" (ArnoldPorter). According to John Green Walmart has order factories for forced labor.
  • Culture Change

    Culture Change
Technology has been growing for many centuries but in the 20th century till now is when it really took off when the internet came out. "Computers as a low-cost assemblage of electronic Lego parts made every neighborhood electronics geek a computer technician and every small office and home work room a data center" (GCN). 1982 is when the internet came out.
  • Tariff War

    Tariff War
In the United States we have realized a unfair trade system with China. "The Trump administration has repeatedly complained about China’s $375 billion trade surplus with the United States as evidence of unfair competition, accusing it of stealing American companies’ intellectual property" (WeForum). We have realized our unfair trading with other countries but as we and them are afraid that money could bring us to war with others.
  • Affects of Globalization in the United States

Affects of Globalization in the United States
Globalization has advanced over time and it keeps progressing. The United States had opened its markets up to have its items to be shipped across the world and have its goods also imported but, this also means we get more allies and enemies."This has impacted the United States in situations such as the 9/11 terrorist attacks as well as it has given the United States the ability to communicate with allies as well as enemies in time of peace, but also in time of conflict" (Globalism).
  • Pollution

    Pollution
With Globalization keep advancing we are getting more and more waste without having a place to put it all. The world has more garbage than it can handle. "This year (2012), the world will generate 2.6 trillion pounds of garbage -- the weight of about 7,000 Empire State Buildings" (TheAtlantic).
  • Affecting the Future

    Affecting the Future
The world has been progressing at a steady rate but till now and on we are realizing the world is coming to a stall. With technology advancing so fast with this generation that hasn't lived without we are realizing they're becoming more lazy with less work ethics according to John Green.
