Invention of Cotton Gin
Eli Whitney invents the cotton gin leading to faster production of textile goods. The Cotton gin was able to remove seeds from the actually usable crop. -
Missouri Compromise
It allowed Missouri to join the U.S as a slave state and created Maine for representation purposes as an abolitionist state. IT also instated that any southern Westward territories would become slave and northern ones abolitionist. -
Monroe Doctorine
It stated that European countries could not interfere with the affairs of north and south independent countries unless they already had territory presiding there. This marks the first time the U.S declares or presents itself as a world leader. Acting as a policing power. -
Jackson's Inauguration
During Andrew Jackson's term, he ended the national debt and ended the second national bank. He also allowed for the trail of tears to take place and brought the Great Panic of 1837. -
Indian Removal Act of 1803
This act was put in place under the Jackson administration and in it, it said that Native Americans were to be relocated for American expansion. While this unified the United States this brought the end for Native American and U.S ties. The "Trail of Tears" was the movement of Cherokee Indians during this event.
