Hitler was an extremely intelligent man. He was super patient because he waited a LLLLLOOOOOOOONNGGGGGGGGG time to get Germany to believe him and make him ruler, and possibly let him kill all those people. He had loads and loads of power because Germany was very weak and needed someone who would make them strong again so they were super gullible and Hitler fooled them.

Germany declares war, people are super happy because they wanted to go to war. Kind of like a party. End of of the war they lost, so they were probably not happy

Nazis needed a way to identify the Jews so they could discriminate them. The Nuremberg Laws defined people with 3 or 4 Jewish grandparents as "Jewish" and 1 or 2 as "Mixed Blood"

Nazi leaders approve the "final solution" which is to exterminate the Jews.

As the army advanced into the Soviet Union, these groups would round up Jews from the newly occupied areas and kill them... usually by shooting. By 1942-42, the Nazis moved away from the Einsatzgruppen or "mobile killing units" and planned to use death camps. Stopped because they found easier ways to kill them. Easier than sending people to shoot them. It could have been hard to find all Jews too. Also, they were wasting bullets by killing people during a war and using lots of bullets for this.

Anne Frank's family went into hiding because it was the beginning of the Holocaust. After Jews started losing privileges, Adolf Hitler somehow managed to get Jews to be spotted and killed. Obviously as normal human beings, the Franks did not want to be killed, so they went into hiding with close friends the Van Daan's. They hid in the attic of Anne's fathers old workplace.

These concentration camps are being liberated.Camps throughout Europe are liberated by allied forces at the end of the war,the Nazi's aren't doing death marches anymore because there is nowhere else to go because they have lost a lot of land.They leave prisoners there and don't do death marches because they don't want to death march because they don't have enough time and don't want the allies to gain on them,so they just went away to save their own lives and left prisoners to get liberated.

When Mr.Frank comes back, there is a scene of disarray showing that someone has been there looking for something and out quickly. Her diary was so meaningful and popular because it was one of the only written records from the Holocaust and it shows a real Jews standpoint as to what the Holocaust felt like to them and how it affected their lives.
