    Adolf Hitler and his Nazi party of 230 members are represented in the July,22 1932 German Parliamentary elections. Hitler delievers a speech that promises various things to the people of Germany.

    The Nazi party or National Socialist German Workers, gain more power as the current president at the time, Paul von Hindenburg, appoints Adolf Hitler as president.
  • The Anti-Jewish Boycotts.

    The Anti-Jewish Boycotts.
    After coming into power in Germany, leaders of the Nazi party enacted an economic boycott on Jewish Business. This would only last a day,and would be ignored by many,but would be the start of Nazis agianst Jews,which would lead to the holocaust.
  • Laws are added that limits Jews in Public Schools.

    Laws are added that limits Jews in Public Schools.
    After the rise to power in Adolf Hitler, many different laws and policies were added that restricted the rights of Jews in Germany. One of the new laws stated that any one public school cannot have more than 5 percent Jewish population in the school.

    In response to the increasing Nazi persecution, German Jew organizations create the Central Organization of German Jews. This was an organization meant to represent the interest. of the persecuted German Jews.

    A few months after the death of Von Hindenburg, Hitler becomes President of Germany, but soon after abolishes the office of president. In doing so, Hitler becomes the Führer of Germany, and has no limits to his power.l

    The Nuremberg Race Laws are passed.
    These laws consisting of the Reich Citizenship Law and the Law for the Protection of German Blood and German Honor. These laws show the Nazi persecution of Jews and the legal framework they layed to legalize the persecution of Jews in Germany.
  • The opening of the Buchenwald Concentration Camp.

    The opening of the Buchenwald Concentration Camp.
    This camp was opened by the SS authorities that were meant for male prisoners in eastern Germany. This was a cruel camp that tortured and hung the prisoners. In addition in 1938, after Kristallnacht, the SS authorities sent around 10,000 Jews to the camp.

    The Reich Ministry of the Interior invalidates any German passports held by Jews. They also had to surrender their passports and had to have identity cards and their passports were also stamped with J to identify themselves.
  • Kristallnacht.

    Kristallnacht.
    Kristallnacht or, "The Night Of Broken Glass," was an event were violent anti-Jewish programs were carried out. Much Jewish businesses were looted, and over 100 Jews were killed in doing so. This was a turning point where Nazi Germany attempted to kill all European Jews during the war.

    When the tensions between nations rise, Adolf Hitler announces to the German public, that the outbreak of war would mean the end of Jews in Germany. After all the racial attemps to serparate Jews in Germany, the start of the war and Kristallnacht would be the tipping point of Nazi racial antisemitism to genocide.

    The St. Louis sails off.
    St. Louis, a German transatlantic liner, sails from Hamburg, Germany, to Havana, Cuba. Most of the 900 passengers were Jews escaping from Nazi Germany. However as the refugees attempted to enter the United States, their entry was denied and they were forced to return to Europe. These passengers would be persecuted back in Nazi germany.
