  • Kristallnacht

    Nazis vandalized and set fire to Jewish businesses, homes, and schools. About 100 Jews were killed and 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and sent to concentration camps.
  • St. Louis

    St. Louis sets sail from Germany to Cuba with over 900 passengers fleeing from Germany. The U.S and Cuba then denied entry, forcing the St. Louis to return to Europe. Refugees would later be killed in the Holocaust.

    Jews were put into ghettos, eclosed areas to control and segregate the Jewish population. The Warsaw ghetto was one of the largest and most populated. In November, it was sealed, confining more than 300,000 Jews.
