    In January 1933, Hitler and the Nazi party came to power, causing the beginning of the Holocaust, They didn't immediately begin murdering the Jews, but they began to target and exclude Jews from German society

    From 1933-1945 Nazi Germany along with its allies established anti-Jewish policies. Not every area in Europe had the same policies so the holocaust experience varied from what part of Europe the Jewish were in.

    From 1938-1939 Nazi Germany did territorial expansion, Germany annexed Austria and the Sudetenland and occupied the Czech lands

    The Jewish were forced into living in ghettos so they could be isolated from German society, German authorities would often build walls or barriers to further keep them from being included. They were not allowed to leave the ghettos without permission

    Germany had 2 methods of killing during the final solution, Mass shootings and gassing operations, this was done throughout Eastern Europe

    Known as "extermination camps" or "death camps" Nazi Germany had 5 killing centers which they would send the Jews to, to be executed. They were created so the Nazi's could kill the Jews on a mass scale

    Due to the Germany annexations and alliances, Nazi Germany controlled most of Europe and parts of North Africa, The Nazi's began forcing harsh policies and mass murder to the Jews living in Europe

    The holocaust ended May of 1945, when the allied powers defeated the Nazi's in World War II, As the allied powers moved across Europe they overran concentration camps and encountered and liberated the death march survivors
