     Adolf Hitler becomes German Chancellor.
    President Paul von Hindenburg names Adolf Hitler, leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party (The Nazi Party), as chancellor of Germany. He was the start of the massive hatred and killing of Jews and other people he didn't personally like.
  • Dachau Concentration Camp

    Dachau Concentration Camp
    The Dachau concentration camp was the first concentration camp established by the Nazis. During the first year, the camp held about 4,800 prisoners. It was located on the land of an abandoned munitions factory near the town of Dachau.
  • Hitler becomes 'Fuhrer' or leader of Germany

    After the death of German President Paul von Hindenburg, Chancellor Adolf Hitler became the absolute dictator of Germany. His title was referred to as either Fuhrer or Leader. Hitler used the deceased President as an opportunity to take total power in Germany by putting himself to this position.
  • Nuremberg Race Laws

    This is the day the Nuremberg Race Laws against Jews were passed. These laws seperated German Jews from Reich citizenship and didn't allow them to marry or have sexual relations with people of "German or related blood."
  • Identity Cards

    Identity Cards
    Just like everyone over the age of 15 in Germany, you're required to apply for identity cards from the police.But the government added special identifying marks to Jew's cards. A red "J" stamped on them and a new middle name for all of the ones who did not possess recognizably "Jewish" first names. They must show them whenever they are ordered to.
  • German Jews are stripped of their rights

    Jews can no longer head businesses nor attend social events.
    Jewish children are segretated into their own Jewish schools!
    Also, they can no longer can have a diver's license, car registrations, and they have to follow strict rules and curfews.
  • Death of Jews

    By 1939 about 6 million Jews were killed in the countries that Hitler controlled. But Jewish people were not the only ones murdered by the Nazis. Gypsies , homosexuals, mentally and physically disabled people and others who were against Hitler were killed in the Holocaust.

    This was the day Japanese attacked the United States Pearl Harbor. The following day, the US declared war on Germany. This was the situation that drug the US into World War II.

    Adolf Hitler committed suicide by gunshot on April 30,1945, in his Führerbunker in Berlin, when the Allied forces reached Berlin. His wife Eva also took her life with him by taking the chemical compound, cyanide.
  • End of WWII

    This marks the day that Japan formally surrendered to the Allies, bringing an end to World War II. Many significant events occured, and Japan took many hardships that led up to this memorable day.
