Genocide Map
The Holocaust took place all over Europe. It was a horrid event that should never be repeated. The image provided is only an amount of locations as they even had some in Asia -
Introduction to the Holocaust
The Holocaust was the mass killing of Jewish people and many other groups of people. Adolf Hitler is the man who lead this and claimed the Jews were his greatest enemies. This all took place in Germany and surrounding countries. -
What is Genocide
Genocide is a term coined by Raphael Lemkin. It means the mass killing of a group of people. The Holocaust is one of if not the largest genocide in human history and will hopefully never be topped. -
Liberation of Nazi Camps
Majdanek and Auschwitz were some of the largest camps during the Holocaust. When WWII ended, America and the allies freed the Jews from the camps, there were millions. It was a true day of celebration in Europe and America. -
Effects on Survivors
After it was over, many people would never find their family or loved ones ever again. Due to camps being all over the continent, you could've had family in Germany, but got moved to Poland. The Jewish people eventually fled to Palestine to be safe. -
Displaced Persons
Many people had gone missing or were thought to be dead. In reality, they were only relocated but were still forced to start completely new lives. Never to see those who they loved again. -
Postwar Trials
Germany went through multiple trials for its crimes after the war. The allied powers ensured that they were greatly punished for things such as the Holocaust. Another example of these trials is the military trials in Nuremberg. -
Live after the Holocaust
Those who survived went on and continued life with a twist. Most people immigrated to the United States for the freedoms they always wanted, but couldn't have. This was a large step in the aftermath of the Holocaust.
