First Thanksgiving
The first Thanksgiving was celebrated after the Pilgrims first harvest in the New World. The feast lasted for three days. Ninety Native Americans were in attendance as well as Fifty-Three Pilgrims. Thanksgiving is now celebrated every fourth Thursday in November. -
First Independence Day
The United States of America's Birthday. The U.S. declared independence on July 2, 1776 with a draft of The Declaration of Independence. The Continental Congress approved the final wording of The Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, which is the day we celebrate. -

Memorial Day is a day to remember all of the people that have passed away in service to our country. -
First Presidents Day
This holiday is celebrated the third Monday in the month of February. It was originally estabilished on February 22, 1885 in recognition of The United States of America's first president, George Washington. Now it is celebrated to honor all U.S. presidents, past and present. -
First Veterans Day
This holiday was created to honor World War I veterans. -
First Martin Luther King Jr. Day
This day celebrates the birth of Martin Luther King Jr. He had a major impact on Civil Rights. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is now celebrated every third Monday in January.
