Cable could be better
http://privacy.med.miami.edu/glossary/xd_ccpa.htm Undwe the privacy law, the Cable Communications Policy Act is to provide protection on customers personal information. Without their consent, personal information may not be collected, however, necessary information and unauthorized reception information are taken. I give this act a solid B. It's good, but it can be better. Information should not be taken at all without the consent of the person. -
Electronics will take over one day
https://cdt.org/insight/testimony-of-deirdre-mulligan-before-the-senate-committee-on-commerce-science-and-transportation-subcommittee-on-communications/ The CDT helps protect individuals online privacy rights. They also ask the legislation to help aid those who use electronics against commercial interactions. I rank this act a solid B. I like what they have going, but it doesn't sound strong enough. If possible, instead they should just not interfere with someone elses privacy rights. -
Are childrens privacy rights being violated too?
https://cdt.org/insight/testimony-of-deirdre-mulligan-before-the-senate-committee-on-commerce-science-and-transportation-subcommittee-on-communications/ The CDT wants the legislation to enable the Federal Trade Commission to develop the rules that would used to protect both adults and children. I rank this act a low A. When changes have been made to protect childrens information, then I will reconsider what I rank, because this only seems like an idea, it hasn't been done. -
All your information is public
https://cdt.org/insight/testimony-of-deirdre-mulligan-before-the-senate-committee-on-commerce-science-and-transportation-subcommittee-on-communications/ Just like the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and Childrens Privacy Protection Act, the Wireless Communication and Public Safety Act all want to protect every individual's personal information, any information. I rank this act a solid B, Until personal information becomes secured, I don't know if I can fully believe this act. -
Social media safe or no?
http://www.ncsl.org/research/telecommunications-and-information-technology/employer-access-to-social-media-passwords.aspx Lately employers have been requesting passwords and logins of their employees. State legislators introduced to legislation that this is a clear invasion of an employee's privacy and it should be prevented. I rank this act an solid A. It's a clear violation of an employee's rights, it could cost them their job. It should be prevented in every state, in order for it to be fair -
Stronger laws to protect children?
http://www.ncsl.org/research/telecommunications-and-information-technology/state-laws-related-to-internet-privacy.aspx Privacy policy gives the consumers the choie to choose whether they want their information on the websites. The webstie lets the suer know if any other sites are tracking them or their service. I rank this a solid B because the the whole purpose is to keep peoples persoal information safe, but peoples information are still spreading. -
Obama does his job to help stop tracking
http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2012/02/23/we-can-t-wait-obama-administration-unveils-bluep Obama's Privacy Bill of Rights for Consumers is an act that is giving users more control over where their personal information goes over the internet. Websites are permitted to make the "do not track" option available to users. I rank this a A because at least this gives you the option to choose whether you want to give up your rights or not and whatever you choose will be your own decision.
