    Pontiac's War
    Pontiacs war was the leader of Ottawa nation (which is Pontiac) formed an alliance of Native Americans from the west. Pontiac and the natives attacked the british forts and their settlements. Pontiacs war was fought because Pontiac was leading the Indians, Indians were recieving help and aid from the French. Pontiacs War gets its name because Pontiac started the war. The war effected colonists because the British were in high dept and thought colonists should pay it.

    The French and Indian war started in 1754 and ended 1763. The reasons the French and British were fighting was because they both claimed The Ohio River Valley, then in 1753 the French began building forts on the Ohio River Valley which is Pennsylvania. This is how the French and Indian war started. The British won many early victories and had been winning the war, finally the British won the war. There was a negative affect on the britsih though, they were in very big dept.

    The Treaty of Paris was a treaty ending the war against the French and the British. A plus for the British is America said they could stay there and they would pay off all their dept and this Effected the French, and they lost alot of land.

    The Proclomation of 1763 was a Document banning colonists from expaning. The purpose of this law was to keep colonists from expaning to prevent another war. Colonists were supposed to stay East of the Appalachain Mountians. Because of this the colonists were upset and angry that they could not settle on the Ohio River Valley. They were mainly upset because the Ohio River Valley had fertile soil for farming.

    The sugar act was the British's effort to add taxes on lots of products such as molasses. One of the big reasons they passed this law was because they made it a harsh punishment for the smugglers, for this the merchants protested. The colonists were mad because now they have to pay more for things they need.

They passed this law because the extra money paid for the war and their supplies.     The Quartering Act was a law enforcing the Proclomation of 1763. The reason they passed this law was because was to save money and to provide the British with food. This required colonists to Qaurter or House. Now once again the colonists were angry and thought this was violating their rights.

    The Stamp Act Congress was held because people wanting to show how much they disliked it and thought it was wrong. The most important leaders were Willaim Pitt because he was the leader of the British government, and Thomas Gage because he was the British general and Gov. of Massachusetts. There were nine colonies representated. The Declaration of Rights and Grievances was a document stating that the Stamp Act and all the other laws were unconstitutional.

    The Townshend Acts was named after Charles Townshend because he created the law. The Townshend Act was all 4 Acts that were past. The purpose of this law was to make new taxes on products. The items that were taxed were tea,paints,glass,lead and paper. The colonists were getting so furious and violent that they sent more troops to the colonies. Since they did that all the taxes were repealed except for the tea tax.

Also colonists were really angry because of the way they were being treated, mainly the Stamp Act which was a law saying colonists must put stamps on certain documents and such also the Sugar Act which was a law saying you must pay tax on sugar and molasses these were the events leading up to the Bosten Massacre.     The Intolerable Acts were passed to destroy the Massachusetts Government because of the way they were treating colonists. Another name for the Intolerable Acts was Coercive Acts because it was a patriot name for lots of laws passed by the British. There were 4 laws passed which were Massachusetts Bay Regulating Act. Also some important parts of them were Impartial Administration of Justice Act which allowed the governor of a colony to move trials to other colonies.

There were exactly 12 colonies that came together except for Georgia. There were also about 55 representatives, including George Washington , Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, and John Adams. Two things that the colonies agreed on was boycott British goods and products and also agreed to meet again

    The reason the British were heading to to Concord was because General Gage found out that the colonists had kept supplies and gun ammunition at Concord some. On he sent 700 of his troops togo get the supplies and , if they could get Samuel Adams and John Hancock they were to arrest them. So when the British came to attack the Rebels, the Minutemen were waiting to attack Lexington. The Americans were leaving when someone fired a shot. The British started to shoot the Minutemen.

    And a minuteman is a member of American militiamen who were to be ready to attack in a minute. In Concord, The British went to look for weapons, but didn't find anything . From the woods and fields the Minutemen shot at them. British were stuck between the sea and the Patriot. They had nowhere to go, nowhere to run. The only logical thing to do was try to defend themselves.

The declaration of causes was a document to explain why the Thirteen Colonies had weapons in what had become the American Revolutionary War.

    The colonists intended to build a fort 160 feet long and 30 feet high atop Bunker Hill. The colonists accually built their defences on Breeds Hill. The Americans were led by Colonel William Prescott. The British were led up the hill by General William Howe who was in control of the British troops. The British’s planned on taking over the hills around Boston to gain advantage. They chose this strategy because it would be like a head start to winning for them.
