The Triple Alliance is Formed
The Triple Alliance was formed between Austria- Hungary, Italy, and Germany. This was formed in the circumstances that one of the countries will need support if they were to engage in war. It was specifically meant for the chance of either country being attacked by Britain or France. He was in a convertible top car paying his presence to the town of Sarajevo (After Austria had successfully taken control of this region of Europe) when the first attempt was made on his life by a member of the Black Hand group. His body guard was injured, while at the hospital visiting his hurt guard, a man by the name of Gavrilo Princip, shot him and his wife. -
Germany Invaded Belgium
The assassination of Franz Ferdinand, caused for immediate mobilization of the Belgium army by the orders of King Albert. They were completely out numbered, but with a spawn of confidence by Albert, he sent them to the borders to resist the German Army. Germany beleaguered them within a few days. A british liner by the name of the Luistina left port from New York and was headed toward Liverpool, England. It harbored 1,959 people, 159 of whom were Americans. On the voyage to Liverpool, the british liner had been given instructions to caution the ocean due to the German U-boats that stalk the waters.
