Lynching of Jesse Washington
17 year old disabled teenager who was beaten then lynched in Waco Texas on May 15, 1916 for convicted rape and murder of Lucy Fryer. This created a widespread of negative publicity. -
Tulsa Massacre
A race riot two day long white mob terrorist massacre with explosives and tons of weapons. This killed thousands and ruined lives it was considered the single worst racial violation. This changed many lives permanently. -

The unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany and and imperial Japan after Truman announced japans surrender which led to the end of ww2. This cause many people to feel at ease but stuck with permanent life issues. -

A national wide movement for equal rights for African Americans and to add an end to racial segregation and exclusion. This helped colored peoples voice stick out and provided the truth and power. -
Emmett Till
14 year old teen, accused of whistling at a white woman, Carolyn Bryant. After hearing this two white men kidnapped Emmett, brutally tortured, murdered then dumped in a river. This changed and was a spark of activism resistance that led to the Civil Rights Movement. -

Berlin Wall
Prevented people from escaping to the West from East Berlin during the Cold War. People who tried escaping were shot, died by accident or by suicide. After many bureaucratic errors it led to political changes and caused the wall to fall and was apart of the mark of the end of the Cold War. -

Votings Rights Act of 1964
A law that banned literacy tests and empowered the federal government. This made African Americans available to register to vote. This changed humanity by stopping racial discrimination. -

A launched campaign that allowed African Americans to be able to register as voters in Mississippi. -
Civil Rights Act
Outlawing discrimination of race, color, religion, sex, etc. This gave people much freedom and a will to speak. This changed the country’s communication system drastically by getting more steps closer to being equal. -
Fair housing act
Was apart of the Civil Rights Act that was signed by President Lyndon Johnson. Prohibited discrimination concerning sales, rental and financing. This helped African Americans have a more safe life and safer environment.
