  • French and Indian War

    Colonists came to fight the French only to find that th eIndians had sided with the French. This sent the colonists packing. The French also highered mercenaries to fight over seas for them.
  • Treaty of Paris

    This document announced the official end of the French and Indian War. This gave the British a truckload of land as the colonists celebrated with their homeland and King.
  • Proclomation of 1763

    The King of England sent out an order that drew a wimpy line throught the Appelachian Mountians saying that no one could croos this line making the other side only the Indian's land. This was a problem because some colonists were already living in the Indian's land.
  • Stamp Act

    This act, ( issued by the king) proclaimed a tax on almost every document that effected nearly all of the colonists. Hearing this a bunch of rebels formed a group known as the," Son's of Liberty." It took a lot of arguing for the Parliment to recall this act in 1766.
  • Townshend Act

    This act made many of the colonists become enraged with anger. It taxed on things such as lead, cloth, glass, paper, and tea. As this was happening, it led to many more boycotts and featherying anf tarring.
  • Boston Massacre

    One night a crowd of people were throwing rock imbedded snowballs at the Birtish and calling them names. Hearing and feeling this, it caused the Redcoats to become angering and start shooting colonists making a scene. After the fact, colonists amde sure they shooters were given a fair trial and that every one in town and out had heard what had happened.
  • Boston Tea Party

    As the British laid more and more taxes on the colonists things only became worse and worse. A new tax was placed on tea causing the Son'd of Liberty to dress up like Indians and in the night dump a shipment of tea overboard into the sea.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    If you want to attack the British, make sure you have lots of guns. Guns were the main thing that atrracted the redcoats to Lexington. The British stormed the town in hopes of securing all the guns they could get their hands on only to find that 70 minute men were waiting for them, standing up for what was right. As for Concord, the colonists knew they couldn't stop the British so they used a plan of attack known as gorrilla warafare which did surpise and kill some of the redcoats.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Talk about getting embrassed by the Americans. The British tried three times to remove the American's off their hill that was allowing them to win the attacks. Eventually the British defeated them. During this time a ayoung man named George Washington was made a general in the army.
  • Declaration of Independence

    This paper delclared that colonists and their country should be and will be free.
  • Battle of Trenton

    George Washington knew that he had to take action in order to tip the scales of war. Him and his army used a surprise attck on the Hessian and British soliders the day after Christma while they were drunk. Washington and his army crossed the Delware to New Jersey. This attck gave the results hoped for.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    A general from the British army thought he could take the colonists by using small attckas here and there. Little did he know until it was to late that Washington's army had destroyed their small groups of men until he didn't have enough men to storm the colonists camp. The only thing left to do was surrender all 6,000 men.
