Declaration of Independence
Before the Declaration, Thomas Paine wrote "Common Sense.", which declared that the people should make the laws and govern themselves without a king. A lot of colonists agreed. So the Continental Congress met and wrote the Declaration. On July 4th, 1776, the Declaration was signed, forming the United States of America. -
U.S Constitution
The Constitution is a document that lists all the the people's rights in America. It had the Bill of Rights, Amendments, and the Articles. Without the Constitution, we would be controlled by a king, and not any freedom's or rights what so ever.
