    due to the issue of control of the independent Sicilian city-state, of Messana, the first punic war was started by Carthage and Rome

    2nd Punic War

    Hannibal had a rivalry with Rome and Spain, so this whole war was basically children fighting out of jealousy.
  • Period: 149 BCE to 146 BCE

    3rd Punic War

    this war was the efforts by Cato the Elder and other hawkish members of the Roman Senate to convince their colleagues that Carthage something that's uknown.
  • Period: 60 BCE to 53 BCE

    The 1st Triumvirate

    The time when Pompey, Julius Caesar, and Marcus Licinius Crassus created an alliance and worked together, though it didn't last forever, they all wanted more power and left the others in the dust.
  • 44 BCE

    Julius Caesar's Death

    Julius was assassinated by his own friends of the senate, it was a heartbreaking time for him, his final words were "et tu, Brute?" which meant, "You too, Brutus?
  • Period: 43 BCE to 32 BCE

    The 2nd Triumvirate

    Once again, another alliance, a political alliance formed after the Roman dictator Julius Caesar's assassination, comprising Caesar's adopted son Octavian (the future emperor Augustus) and the dictator's two most important supporters, Mark Antony and Marcus Aemilius Lepidus. Once again, this didn't last long, because each of them wanted to be the new ruler.

    Battle of Actium

    a rivalry of Octavian and Antony following the assassination of Julius Caesar skyrocketed, so they wet to war, but it only lasted one day, that's a small war.

    Octavian proclaimed Augustus Caesar

    During this time, Octavian gained the name "Augustus Caesar" and was crowned ruler of his new kingdom.

    Romans gain the Eastern Mediterranean

    The founding of the Roman Empire, good times, though there were a lot of deaths, and suicides....maybe it wasn't so good.
