Trung Trac created a village of 80,000 warriors and 36 women generals they became a revolutionary force that was through all Nam Viet. After it was over Trung Nhi and Trung Trac became "legends" and Trung Trac the queen of Vietnam which lasted 3 years and after that the Chinese came back and the Trung sisters died. No one knows how because that is a legend but that say they drowned on a river. -

Portuguese in Danang
In 1516 the fist Portuguese sailors came to Vietnam at Danang which is a coast. Portuguese wanted to trade with Vietnam. The portuguese arrived at the shore of Danang they were followed by people that wanted to convert other people to catholicism. They started trading with vietnam. Portuguese stayed at Danang. They tried to explain catholic religion to vietnamese. So they brought catholicism to Vietnam. -
North and South Vietnam Split/Tay Son rebellion
Tay Son rebellion started when the Nguyen brothers rebell against Portuguese. They saw they cood attack more; they started attacking more towns/cities until almost all Vietnam was in their power. The rebellion wanted more land. Thei started ruling the south and north. Than thei started thinking that to rule Vietnam People will obey them if they were emperors. The big idea was to capture the emperor's family and kill them. So Nguyen Lu became emperor of South and Nguyen Nhac of North Vietnam. -

Everything started when Nguyen Anh proclaimed himself emperor. That's when the Nguyen Dinasty started. Finally Vietnam was united. -
French colonization
The french people invade Vietnam in 1858 from that date they started making rules. They french people brought Vietnam good things like religion and education. Ho Chi Minh found the indochina (also known as french colonization) and stop France. france declare the independence to Vietnam
The french attacked in Danang . The emperor was obliged to sign a treaty in 1862.They attacked Hanoi for the first time and failed in 1873. Also the second time they attacked Hanoi again and won in 1882. -

Vietnam Minh was a communist party event that helped Vietnam a lot during the war against China. How it helped is that on that day they gave every body an equal amount of food. Viet Minh helped out a lot of Vietnamese people during that war. Now you know how Viet Minh was an important part against the Chinese invasion. -
World War II in Vietnam
The World War II in Vietnam was very strange because at the end of the war Vietnam wasn’t ruled by no one so the Japanese tried to took over it. First they started to killed, they did an error so the started going more violent and killed a lot of people. Then the famine was going on so it killed more than 2 million people! Now there was only 10 million but with the Japanese less people were in Vietnam. It all finish the same year at the end of the World War II and the began of the Vietnam War. -

Franco-Viet Minh War
This event was fought from 1946 to 1954. It started when France ruled Vietnam. After, Vietnamese people didn’t have any more patience. French had started to kill lots of people. French got help from other countries. Most of the fighting took place in in Tonkin in Northern Vietnam. The vietnamese people hided in the forest. This is called guerilla warfare. When they were hiding french came to look for them. Vietnamese killed french people that were near. French soldiers starved and died. -
South and North Vietnam
They split because some people didn't communism but other people yes. The leader of South Vietnam was Ngo Dinh Diem. Many people ran from the North to the South . The north people killed many " enemies " . The North was called Democratic Republic of Vietnam. -

The war was very bloody. North Vietnam wanted to make the country communist and South Vietnam didn't. North Vietnam had many powerful and clever allies. The US started to bomb Vietnam. North Vietnam won the war because they used guerrilla warfare. Another reason is that North Vietnam soldiers made underground tunnels, Cu Chi Tunnels. In the tunnels there were holes on the surface hidden by bushes so they could breath. After the war Vietnam got very poor and the country was ruled by communism. -

Much of the Vietnamese economy was done for a during the war. They slowly rebuilt in the 1980s. USA helped the South but at the end North won. South Vietnam was reunited with the North. Saigon named again Ho Chi Minh City.People did not want U.S. troops in this mess. South Vietnamese who had collaborated with the US forces were hunted down. Refugees began to try to escape from Vietnam by boat. These boat people attempted to sail to Malaysia or even Hong Kong in order to escape. -
