History Of Video Games

  • Bertie The Brain

    One of the first games created was a virtual version on tic tac toe. The game made in 1950, was formally named, "Bertie the Brain". "Bertie the Brain", was one of the first games without physics, unlike the many others in this decade.
  • Tennis for Two

    "Tennis for Two", was the first game created to work with physics. The game set in motion a plethora of future games, including the beloved pong. "Tennis for Two" simulated a tennis in which you take part of and control where the ball goes.
  • Spacewar!

    "Spacewar!", was the first of its kind, being a space combat game. "Spacewar!" is a two player game where you take control of two space ships, the needle and the wedge. The goal of the game is to shoot the other player before he shoots you
  • Space Travel

    "Space Travel" is game that simulates planetary travel. The game takes place in a 2D eagles eye view or top down view. The game is single player and set up numerous space travel games we have now
  • Pong

    Everyone knows "Pong", this game is one of the most well known games probably made. Pong involves physics, where you are a rectangle and a ball is hit at you and you have to hit it back. The game is 2 player so you want to get more points than your opponent.
  • Asteroids

    The goal of "Asteroids" is to shoot asteroids and saucers to gain points. The game progressively gets harder with it becoming harder to obtain points and not die. This game is one of the first popular arcade games.

    "Pac-Man", probably one of the most well known games of all time. The original "Pac-Man" setup decades of spinoffs and others games including a "Ms. Pac-Man". "Pac-Man" was a hit arcade game in the 80's, and is still a hit game today.

    The "N.E.S." or Nintendo Entertainment System was one of the first home gaming devices. The "N.E.S." had multiple legendary games spanning from, "The Marios Bros", "Tetris", "Zelda" and many many more. The N.E.S. was inspiration for the Xbox and Playstation line of gaming consoles as-well as future Nintendo systems
