Creation of the Walls
The humans built a series of intricate walls and gates to protect themselves against the titan menace. Each wall contained districts which housed the people. The further into the wall systems one traveled the wealthier and more secure the people were. There are three main walls: Wall Maria (the outermost), Wall Sheena (the middle), and Wall Rose (the innermost). The walls were named after King Ymir Fritz's three daughters.

The Creation of Military Regiments
The military was divided into four divisions, each led by their own leaders. The Survey Corps, or Scouts Regiment, are tasked with attempting to reclaim territory that has been lost to the Titans. The Military Police are in charge of keeping order inside the Walls and protecting the King. The Garrison is responsible for patrolling, maintaining, and protecting the Walls. They are responsible for evacuations too.

The Fall of Shiganshina
The Shiganshina District was attacked by the Colossal and Armored Titans. They breached the gates of Wall Maria, letting in many titans and leading to the massacre of countless men, women, and children. The humans were forced to draw back and abandon the perimeter and the remaining cities along the wall. The survivors were sent to take refuge in Wall Rose. This was a major loss of both live and land for the humans.

The Battle of Trost District
An effort to retake Wall Maria is launched with 250,000 refugees fighting alongside the Survey Corps. This effort was meant to alleviate food shortages caused by the influx of refugees. There were no survivors. Despite its failure, the massive loss of life had alleviated the food shortages, aiding people within the Walls. Five years later, Trost District is breached, though it and its people survive due to the intervention of Eren Yeager.

57th Exterior Scouting Mission
The 57th Exterior Scouting Mission was a mission undertaken by the Scout Regiment to plot a course from Calaneth District to Shiganshina District. Under the guise of another mission to reclaim territory, the Corps goal was to capture the Female Titan. However, their attempt failed, leading to the deaths of more than half the regime.
