  • The First Computer Invented

    The First Computer Invented
    The first computer was invented by Carles Babbage in 1834. He developed an analytical engine, but it was never built. However, he was the first with the concept. “Computers” at that time were people that did the work and they made mistakes which is why he started to develop the idea of computers. The first computer was built in 1936, by the mathematician Alan Turing. Alan's achievement is the base for modern computer science, which is why he got the title for “Father of Computer Science”.

    Algorithmic Programming
    In 1945 german inventor Konrad Zuse developed Plan Calculus. It was the first programming language that utilized algorithms, according to the Computer History Museum. An algorithm is a detailed step-by-step instruction set or formula for solving a problem or completing a task.

    The term artificial intelligence was first coined by John McCarthy in 1956.
    Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the ability of a machine or computer system to copy human intelligence processes, learn from experiences, adapt to new information and perform human-like activities. Specific applications of AI include expert systems, natural language processing, speech recognition and machine vision.

    Microsoft
    Bill Gates changed the computer community with his biggest achievement, Microsoft. Microsoft was founded by Gates and Paul Allen the 4 april 1975. Microsoft is the world's largest personal computer software company. In the beginning it was a company to produce software for the early PC called Altair 8800, then IBM. Microsoft's operating system started to be used in many PCs, and is today called windows. You could say that Bill Gates is the founder of modern operating systems for computers.

    World wide web by Tim Berners-Lee
    While working at a Swiss laboratory in 1990, English computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee created the Web. He introduced URLs, the hypertext transfer protocol and the online programming language known as HTML. During the same year, Berners-Lee developed the original Web browser and established the world’s first website. His contributions made the Internet far more useful for people without extensive technical training.
