in july 1969 there american astonauts circled the moon aborad apollo 11. once in orbit neil armstrong and buzz aldrin entered a tiny space craft called eagle descented toward a flat area on the moons surface called the sea of tranquility. when armstrongs radioed that the eagle had landed ,cheers rang out at the NASA space center in houston, texas.a few hours later armstrong and aldrin left the eagle to walk on the surface of the moon.
