Primitive Times 300-400BC

many of the people thought that illnesses were caused by god punishing them for wrong doing and so a demon were infecting the person and so that where we got the phrase "bless you" when you sneezed cause the evil spirit was leaving you witch doctors would use herbs as medicine but not in the same why people in current days do, many time they would try to smoke out the demon and doing other ceremonies the make the demon leave the body, this being said on average their lifespan was a mere 20 year

Ancient Chinese 1700 BC – AD 220

similarly to the primitive times they used herbs though they also used something called acupuncture which is when they would stick little needles into the muscles and would send small waves of electricity to help with different sorts of medical treatment and its still a practice we use to this day! the Ancient Chinese believed in curing the whole spirit and would work to cleanse the entire body and by them putting more car into their bodies they live 20-30 years

Ancient Greeks 1200 BC –200 BC

Hippocrates, or father of Medicine was the first to take notice of what disease did to the human body and was an important part of modern practice and the medicine used to this day. unlike the others he actually was a logical person and believed illness was caused by natural causes and treated it with herbs and in turn of his discovery the average lifespan was now 25-35 years.

Ancient Romans 753 BC – AD 410

weirdly enough the Romans were the first to provide medical attention to the injured soldiers on the field and they also made the first sanitation systems by making sewers and aqueducts. Claudius Galenus was the one who came up with the belief that our body operated by four humors; blood-lust yellow bile(a yellow greenish fluid that comes from your liver)-Anger Mucus(a gelatinous goo that comes from a mucous membrane in the throat)-slow response and black bile is depression.

A lot of the time priests were the physicians because people believed that they would stop the evil forces that were infecting people and that their religious powers connected to god would be powerful enough. they would use leeches as a type of blood draw to get rid of infected blood in the body as a medical treatment, on average they lived a little longer then primitive times, living between 20 to 30 years.
