Centers for the Studies of Learning and Attention is created for the sole purpose to expand research and uinderstanding of learning disabilities. -
IDEA
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act takes the place of PL 94-142. The term handicapped is dropped and disability is the replacement term. Transition services are added to the law. Autism and brain injuries are now eligible for services.. -
IDEA reauthorized
IDEA is raauthorized. Regular education teachers are included in the IEP process. Students have more access to curriculum and state wide assesments. ADHD is now eligible for services. -
NCLBA
IDEA is reauthorized. Schools have more authority over placement of children. Aligned with No Child Left Behind Act. -
