Disease and plagues still raged. Growth in cities. Miasma theory was created. They thought disease was caused by the filth on the streets that people breathed in. -

Renaissance
Beginning of change. Disease was still rampant. Barbers performed surgery and dentistry. Printing press was invented as well as the microscope. -

Leprosy
Bacterial infection, facial and extremity disfigurement. Highly contagious. -

Bubonic Plague
Killed one/third of Europe's population from 1347-1352. Caused by fleas that landed on people. -
