E. Lambert Founds NYFW

Mar 10, 1943

In the year 1943, Eleanor Lambert created the first New York Fashion Week, then known as Press Week. Paris Fashion Week was cancelled during this year dure to the Nazis occupation. Lambert wanted to switch the attention from what was going on in Paris to America.

Anne Klein

Mar 10, 1965

Anne Klein begins to show seperate tops and bottoms that can be worn seperately, combined or worn again the following season. Klein was the first to recognize that women's bodies are not completely even, they are different sizes on the top and the bottom. Klein worked to accommodate those differences.
