    Hair was generally worn short. Beards were less pointed than before and moustaches were often curled.Tall, stiff collars characterize the period, as do women's broad hats and full "Gibson girl" hairstyles.

    -Men's trousers were worn cuffed to ankle-length and creased. Skirts rose from floor length to well above the ankle.
    -Women began to bob their hair, and the stage was set for the radical new fashions associated with the Jazz Age of the 1920s.[

    -Women began to wear comfortable clothes (such as short skirts or pants).
    -Men likewise abandoned overly formal clothes and began to wear sport clothes for the first time.

    • skirts became longer and the waist-line was returned up to its normal position in an attempt to bring back the traditional "feminine" look. -by the end of that year when the effects of the Great Depression began to affect the public, a more conservative approach to fashion displaced that of the 1920s.

    -Paris's isolated situation in the 1940s enabled the Americans to exploit the ingenuity and creativity of their own designers.
    - The couturier Christian Dior created a tidal wave with his first collection in February 1947. The collection contained dresses with tiny waists, majestic busts, and full skirts swelling out beneath small bodices, in a manner very similar to the style of the Belle Époque.

    -Despite the fact that women had the right to vote, to work, and to drive their own cars, they chose to wear dresses made of opulent materials, with corseted waists and swirling skirts to mid-calf.
    -As fashion looked to the past, haute couture experienced something of a revival and spawned a myriad of star designers who profited hugely from the rapid growth of the media.

    • Fashion in the '90s united around a new standard, minimalism, and styles of stark simplicity became the vogue. -Despite the best efforts of a few designers to keep the flag for pretty dresses flying, by the end of the decade the notion of ostentatious finery had virtually disappeared.

    -women wore mostly low rise skinny jeans. Tunics were worn with wide or thin belts, longer tank tops with a main blouse or shirt, leggings, knee-high boots with pointed toes, capri pants, and vintage clothing.
    -The men Slim-fitting jeans were cutting edge, cartoon printed hoodies, Convers sneakers, mod-style parkas and military dress jackets were the essential fashion items for men back then.
