English Literature has a wide history divided into 11 eras going from years 450 to current days.

Old English Period

From years 450 to 1066. Characterized for being an oral tradition at the begining of the era, where one of its most important symbol is Beowulf. The favorite style was medieval romances.

Middle English Period

1066

From 1066 to 1500. This era is characterized as being different from the old english because french words were added after the Norman conquest by William Norman, Duke of Normandy.
