    Millions of years ago before the academic system came about, children educated themselves through self-directed play and exploration (Pitler).

    Children went from exploring to play, to being forced into a labor intensive working environment. The blossoming of agriculture is to blame for this change. During this time, play had to be forced out of children as they were mainly forced to work.

    After agriculture had been blooming for a while, there became extra resources. With these resources, they started created extra items from the extra. This eventually brought the industrial era, where they used children as cheap labor.

    Children quickly started to break free of their adult-like responsibilities. In 1833 there was a law that was put into place to limit the amount of days and hours that children could work.

    After the child labor laws were out, parents started to realize that a child's beginning years are meant to be spent in a productive learning environment. 30 years later, children were forced to attend an educational institution of some kind. This was to help them learn how to become better workers. Education during this time help a lot of reprimand, and tough experiences.

    After millions of research studies, we realize that young humans do not have the same brain as adult humans. We now realize what a child is capable of at a certain age and vice versa. Children today are given grace and many technological opportunities.
