John Dight build his water powered mill soon after the first steam powered mill was constructed. -
The Dight Family abandoned their flour mill in 1864 and sold it to Edwin Treenery in 1878.

The mill remained abandoned until the year 1888.

The mill race was rebuilt in the same position using
bluestone blocks from Dight’s old mill building, and a new mill
and other buildings were constructed. These buildings were
sold in 1891 to the Melbourne Flour Milling Company. -
The mill owners for a final time before it was burnt by fire. The mill ruins of the mill can still be found at Dights Falls to this day.
