  • Red River Colony Founded

    The Red River Colony was founded by Scotish immigrants near the Red and Assiniboine Rivers.

  • Colony was Administered by the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC)

    After 1836 the HBC admistered this colony, which was primarily populated by the francophone and anglophone Metis people.
