Fort Sumter surrenders to the Confederacy. Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Arkansas join the Confederacy. -

The titanic was hit by an ice burg. It was slowly sank and over 1500 people died. -

The western allies invaded Normandy, on the northern coast of France. It was the largest amphibious attack. -
Brown v. Board of Education
Segregation in schools and other public facilities was made illegal. White and black people could go to the same schools. -
Death of Elvis
The king of rock and roll. Elvis Presley died of a heart attack. -
September 11th 2001
Terrorists hijacked two planes and attacked the World Trade Center. Two other planes were hijacked one crashed in a filed in Pennsylvanian and the other into the Pentagon. -
