This is the day that the Second Continental Congress adopted. This important document was written by Thomas Jefferson. This document was created to protect our rights from the government. -
Eli Whitney and the Cotton Gin
This was an invention made to make removing the seeds from the cotton quicker. Instead of a person cleaning 1 pound a day they could clean 50 pounds a day with the cotton gin. This made all the work they had to do a lot easier. Also they were able to get more done in a day. The Cotton Gin changed the world.

The Louisiana Purchase
This event is they day where we bought the Louisiana Territory from France. This event is important in history because it made our country double in size and gave us full control over the Mississippi River. This then let us get control over the New Orleans port, so westerners could trade to get to the Gulf of Mexico and the East Coast. (McDougal Littell)

The Lewis and Clark Journey West
This is when Lewis and Clark started heading west to discover what was out there. Thomas Jefferson hired them to do so and come back with what was out there, On there journey west they met many Native Americans, whiched helped them along the way. This was important because we discovered 178 plants and also we got the first acurate maps of the Louisiana Territory. (McDougal Littell)

The Stemboat
This was an amazing creation that changed the world. This invention was invented by Robert Fulton. This made travel a lot easier up and down the Rivers. This changed for a lot of people making it easier against the rough currents. This was new isea that no one saw coming and it made the world change in a lot of ways by opening up new doors.

The Texas Revolution
This is when the when Mexico outlawed slavery, which made the people in Texas angry. Then Texas wanted war against Mexico. Mexico then started cracking down on Texas giving more laws and sending more troops over to Texas. This was an important event because this is the war that the people in Texas fought to be free from Mexico.

The Alamo
This is when Mexico and Texas were still at war. Texan volunteer soldiers occupied the Alamo during the time. Then a Mexican force filled with tousands raded the Alamo. The Texans fought hard even though they were out numbered. The Texans held out for 13 days until the Mexicans won. The Battle of the Alamo is andenduring symbol of their heroic struggle for independence. Also for the Texans standing up to the Mexicans.

The Trail of Tears
The Trail of Tears is when the Native Americans kept on getting pushed westward for over 200 years. Many tribes lived on the east of the Mississippi River. When white settlers came they pushed west. The whites wanted to bring the Native Americans into a lifestyle of a white man. The Native Americans did not want this because they had their own way in living. This is an important event because it shows how people used to treat other people if they were not the same race. (McDougall Littell) -
The Mexican American War
This war was one of the first American wars held on foreign soil. Mexico wanted to claim Texas as its own even though Texas was part of the US after the Texas Revolution. The war was fought in Mexico and Mexico was deafeated after bloody days at war. This is important because we had no more troubles with Mexico and Texas was part of the US. (McDougal Littell) -
The Donner Party
The Donner Part was a group of pioneers. They were almost done with their journey they then just had to pass one last challenge. This was the Sierra Nevada Mountains, which they became trapped by heavy snowfall. They were starving and they turned to cannibalism to survive through the winter. The California Gold Rush
The California Gold Rush was a big event when people found gold in California. When all the people heard about this everyone was moving west. The down fall of this event is land in the west started being taken over by the Americans and it pushed out all the Native Americans. This is an important event because it shaped history. The Attack on Fort Sumter
It was the bombardment and surrender of Fort Sumter, that started the American Civil War. The first shots that started the war no one was injuried, but we surrendered Fort Sumter. THese first shots by the Southern States claimed war. -
Disney Founded
This is the day that Walt Disney was founded by Roy O. Disney, Walt Disney. These are the people who had this idea and made a reality. This was just one small idea and now 91 years from then it is still a majoring company. Disney is still a fun place for families to have fun. -
First apperance of Batman
Batman was shown to the world. He was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, and first appeared in Detective Comics #27. 75 years ago till now Batman is still a great hit. -
The Supreme Case: Brown v The Board of Education
This is a Supreme court case that was against the racial segregation of children in public schools. A black girl was not alowed to go to a school 5 blocks away because it was only for whites. This then made her to have to go to a school 21 blocks away, which caused this case. This case was a big decision for the court to make. -

THis is when Spiderman first appered in Amazing Fantasy #15. The first appearance of Marvel Comics Spiderman from 1963 -
President Kennedy Assassination
This is the day where one of presidents was killed. It occured as he was riding through Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas, Texas. This was devastaing to some people because we lost a great president. -
The Death of Elvis Presley
This is he day that Elvis Presley died of cardiac arrhythmia in Graceland. Cardiac arrhythmia is when the heart does not beat at a normal pace, which caused his death.This was a big shock to people and a very devastaing news. -
My Birthday
This is the day that I was born into the world. -
9/11/01
This is the day that they teriost attacked the twin towers in New York. More than 3,000 people died that day. Families were devastaed over the collateral damage. We will never forget that day, but our country has grew from that. -
Divergent Book Release
This is when on of my favorite books was released. It is written by Veronica Roth and it is a triology. This book is now a movie and is a science fiction type of book.
