On April 12, 1861, General P.G.T. Beauregard, opened fire on the Union garrison holding Fort Sumter. On April 13 Major Robert Anderson, garrison commander, surrendered the fort and was evacuated the next day.

brown vs. board of education
The brown vs, board of education case invloved a dad who wanred to let his daughter attened the school closer to home, but that school was only for white children. But by the end of the case, nine outstanding black kids where aloowed to join the school. But the black children weren't allowed in the school and one young lady had to be brought to safety. But eventually then were allowed to attend the school.

On September 11, terroists flew two plains into the twin towers. This killed many hundrends of people, and caused the twin towers to collapes. In September of 2013, a new tower was built in memory of the twin towers. -
