    Prohibition
    the act of prohibiting the manufacturing, storage in barrels and bottles, transportation, sale, possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
    Passing the prohibition act helped make the world a cleaner and safer place because too many people drank.
    There were bootleggers and speakeasies that went around the law and did it illegally and made it a problem.

    19th Amendment
    When the U.S was founded, female citizens didn't have the same rights of men including voting rights. The 19th Amendment to the U.S Constitution gave women the right to vote.
    women were being heard and starting to get their way.
    Since things were more open for women the power they had got out of control.

    A national quota system on the amount of incoming immigrants established by US congress, curbing legal immigration
    There were so many immigrants coming to the US looking for jobs.
    Immigrants had nowhere to go which meant they could have been homeless, and poor.

    Introduced people to new music and a new style.
    Competition caused conflict between races and artists.

    7 men were shot to death by several men dressed as policemen with Al Capone considered to be associated with the murders.
    Led to organized crimes.
    Made places unsafe and crime could be pinned on anybody. Death rate increased.

    Canadians were too afraid that Chinese would take over their jobs.

    John T Scopes, a biology teacher, tried for teaching darwinism in a Dayton Tennessee Public School. He argued that academic freedom was being violated and that the legislature had a religious preference. Scopes was convicted.
    Led him to question beliefs and try to make a change.
    After trial his beliefs still could have been questioned and someone could have kept his beliefs going.

    Italian immigrants and avowed anarchists who advocated to overthrow the government arrested and prosecuted for murder and robbery. It was widely believed that they were being prosecuted for their immigrant background and their political beliefs.
    Thought they could get away with immigration.
    More crime and blame being thrown to just anyone weakening government.

    If there was a crash (which it was) would take the US a long time to get back to how they used to be. (stable)

    Made the world a not so safe place anymore because alcohol was legal.

    Trying to stay neutral and not get in anymore conflict.

    Started conflicts with other countries by not getting involved.
