I was born at 11.00pm in the evening and my family celebrated until midnight. Mother was a bit worried that my head circumference was a little bit too large. However, she was relieved that my head circumference does not affect my future development. -

10,651 athletes competing in 300 events. Despite their size, they were well organised, renewing faith in the Olympic Movement. It was the first Olympic game that I witnessed, I was very amazed. -

Mountain climbing: 15-year-old Sherpa Temba Tsheri becomes the youngest person to climb to the top of Mount Everest. I choosed this event as the younge teenager proved that any crisis can be overcomed with perserverance. I was proud of him as he was one memeber in my own year group. -

The WHO issues a global alert on SARS.On November 16, 2002, an outbreak of what is believed to be severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), began in the Guangdong province of China, which borders on Hong Kong. I chosed this event as SARS is a wild-spreading desease. I choosed this event as I remembered clearly that during the SARS period, every facility was closed in my hometown including schools, therefore, my family was extremely apprehensive. -

I chose thsi event as Athen had expereience a majure earthquake months ago. Pope John Paul II dies; over 4 million people travel to the Vatican to mourn him. I chose this event as Pope John Paul was the second longest serving Pope in the history. He was also one of the most-travelled world leaders in history, visiting 129 countries during his pontificate. -

NASA's Cassini-Huygens spacecraft discovers geysers of a liquid substance shooting from Saturn's moon Enceladus, signaling a possible presence of water.I think that it was a brilliant observation, if surface water is found on Saturn's moon, then there's possibility that the moon can support life. -

I think this is very important as it directly matters the future of North and South pole. Scientists have confirmed that the Noth Pole will be melting away supposingly after about 30 years. -

It was a larfge earthquake waith magnitude 9.0. The nuclear disaster in Japan has affected many things, including the nuclear policy of the nation. Tokyo earthquake was the biggest earthquake I have ever withness, I remembered that there was a ban in Japanese product for almost a week.
