Board of Education of Hendrick Hudson Central School District v. Rowley. 458 U.S 176
- In 1982- the first Supreme Court Case of BOA/H. Central School v. Rowley- dealt with a student who was deaf, although an interpreter was funded, the parents fought for equal education rights and took the case to the Supreme Court.
- Parents have the right to place their child in public or private school.

Individuals with Disability Education Improvement Act of 2004 ( IDEA)
- In 2004- President Bush- signed the ( IDEA) on December 3, 2004.
- Congress had amended and renamed the Special Education law several times since 1975.
