  • Board of Education v Rowley, 458 U.S. 176 (1982)

    Rowley is known as one of the first cases to be delivered to the Court of Supreme to request for clarification of a provision of the Education for all Handicapped Children Act (EHA). The Rowley case was centered on Amy Rowley, whom was a first-grade student with a hearing impairment. The school district had come to a decision of funding an interpreter to be within the classroom, and they changed their mind on that choice of decision.

    Irvin Independent School District v. Tatro, 468 U.S. 883 (1984)

    Amber was age 3 ½, who was diagnosed with spina bifida. Amber suffered from a neurogenic bladder, that required the use of a catheter three to four hours daily to prevent injury to her kidneys. Clean intermittent catheterization (CIC), is known as the preferred method of catheterization. Amber was not able to perform the method alone due to the fact she was only 3 ½ years of ag, however; a layperson could learn to perform the procedure and assist her as needed.

    Honig v Doe 484 U.S. 305 (1988)

    There were two students from California that was identified up under the disability act of emotionally disturbed and were expelled from school. Disrupt and violent behavior was shown by the two students within the classroom, which was also relative to their disability. The rights of the two students was violated by the school because they were expelled. The two students were protected under the law call the Education of the Handicapped Act (EHA) of 1973.
