First Public High School
Boston had the first Public High School in the year 1812. This was a huge step in education because it allowed students to continue their schooling and give them tools to succeed as a citizen and community member. The first school board is important because it set expectations and a guidelines to follow in order to ensure that students were being taken care of and taught the appropriate materials. -
Public Schooling Now
This is an important time because Americans began to realize that people could be educated to be ethnic and religious barriers to be good Citizens. I think this was important because it helped us begin to educate the people voting on what they are voting for and teaching them about their freedom. I think this also was the starting point for diversity and freedom of all people.
