    Homestead Act
    This is a program designed to grant public land which was about 160 acres to small farmers at low cost. It changed that nations schools because of the immigration that came along with it.
  • Brown vs. Board of Education

    Brown vs. Board of Education
    Allowed children from any race to be allowed to go to school. This case was one of the cornerstones of the civil rights movement, and helped establish that education and other services were not equal.
  • The Elementary and Secondary Elementary Act

    The Elementary and Secondary Elementary Act
    This act allowed schools to give free lunches to those in need and gave more attention to Special Education. This allowed education to be continued for students who may struggle.
  • Title 9

    Title 9
    This says that nobody should be excluded from participation of school and events throughout the school. There should be no discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
  • No Child Left Behind Act

    No Child Left Behind Act
    This Act set new government test standards that students must reach or the school district may face federal assistance money. This program was set in to help disadvantaged students reach the same goals as advanted students.
